Brief description about the collection: The collection ‘Aimee Nielsen Couture 2018 Deco Collection‘ was inspired from Aimee’s love of architecture and specifically art deco architecture of Miami and New York City. She loves to play with lines, colors, and geometric shapes. She is from Miami, so the vibrant colors mixed with the beautiful architecture there also inspired this collection. She wanted this 2018 Deco Collection to be her interpretation and celebration of art deco architecture as transcended into fashion design with activewear textiles.
Bio of the designer: Before pursuing a Fashion Design Degree at one of the world’s foremost fashion schools, The Fashion Institute of Technology, in New York City, New York, Aimee practiced as a litigation attorney in Miami. She is also a licensed attorney in Florida and the District of Columbia. She previously obtained her law degree and a bachelors degree from the University of South Dakota. In her time at the University of South Dakota she was a cross-country All-American, Academic All-American and a multiple- time conference champion and national qualifier in cross country, indoor and outdoor track in distances that included : 6,000 meters, 1600 meters, 3,000 meters, 5,000 meters, a member of a 4×800 and distance medley record setting teams. She was the first woman at the University of South Dakota to become a conference cross country champion for the school. Practically living in activewear textiles as an NCAA athlete sparked a passion for such textiles. After becoming involved with creative pursuits in Miami, Aimee set out to pursue her passion and dreams of becoming a fashion designer and to create one of a kind designs incorporating her other passion of designing with activewear textiles. Aimee Nielsen has a Couture Line ( Aimee Nielsen) and an Active/Sport Competition Line ( Nielsena Sport). Pieces from both collections may also be mixed and matched.
