ABOUT
Originally from California, Michelle Thompson Ulerich trained at San Francisco Ballet for 9 years. She joined Ballet Austin in 2001 and during her 14 years there, she performed in works by Stephen Mills, Balanchine, Tharp, Ulysses Dove, Nelly van Bommel, Thang Dao, Dolbashian, James Gregg, Amy Seiwert, and Sidra Bell. Prelude Projects, Columbia Ballet
Collaborative, Blanton Museum, Hartt School, SUNY Purchase, Motion Dance Theater, Illusory Impressions, Ballet Spartanburg, and Ballet Austin have commissioned her for choreography. She was chosen as the Women’s Choreography Project winner in 2017 by Avant Chamber Ballet and was featured in Pointe Magazine. Since moving to New York, she has shown works at Dixon Place, Actors Fund, Hudson Guild, Arts On Site, Theorist Fest, and her own self produced evenings at Factory ArtSpace under her company name DISTRIBUTED MOVEMENT.
She teaches at Purchase College, performs with Spark Movement Collective, and lives in New York with her husband and 2 children.
